Dr. David A. LeVine’s family has been a part of Menorah Manor history since before it opened. When the Samson Nursing Center opened in 1985, his parents, Dr. Morris and Marilyn LeVine became lifetime volunteers; his brother, Dr. Steven LeVine, became a surgical consultant for the organization; and Dr. David went from being a medical resident to becoming the Medical Director in 1990.
Prior to his residency, Dr. David was a phlebotomist at Bayfront Medical Center and did an externship at Hadassah Hospital in Israel. He then went on to work at the St. Pete Free Clinic, the Pinellas County Health Department and attended a speaker training for EPEC (Education for Physicians on End of Life Care).
Dr. David LeVine is now in private practice in St. Petersburg and is board certified in geriatric care and as a medical director. He is the Chief Medical Officer at Menorah Manor, the Medical Director for Menorah Manor’s Geriatric Assessment Program, the Preceptor for Geriatrics for Bayfront Medical Center’s Family Practice Residency program, the Department Chief for Family Practice at both St. Petersburg General Hospital & Northside Hospital and an adjunct professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. David has been volunteering at Menorah Manor for the past 24 years as an Israeli Dance teacher on Sundays along with his wife of 25 years, Janice. The couple attends Congregation B’nai Israel and has one son and three daughters, all talented entertainers. Their children have already begun carrying on the tradition as regular volunteers at the Samson Nursing Center.
