Dr. Warren Abel

Dr. Warren AbelDr. Warren Abel graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1985. After doing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, he returned to Tampa to do his fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Occupational Medicine. He is now a board certified Critical Care, Pulmonary and Internal Medicine physician in St. Petersburg, FL where he has been practicing for 20 years.

Currently, Dr. Abel is the Vice Chief of Staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital, the Medical Director at Kindred Hospital and runs a practice along with his two partners. He is also a member of the Florida Medical Association, Pinellas County Medical Association, Florida Pulmonary Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Abel is also an investigator in a worldwide study on CLPD and has received multiple awards including the Louie D. Newton Citizenship Award.

In his spare time, Dr. Abel likes to spend time with his wife, Dr. Naomi Abel, and their two kids, Liesa and Aaron. Liesa recently graduated high school and is getting ready to begin her first year of college in Israel. Aaron attends the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The family attends Congregation B’nai Israel in St. Petersburg. When he’s not working, serving on a committee or spending time with his family, Dr. Abel enjoys sailing, running in triathlons, skiing and most of all, playing tennis.
