The Menorah Manor Family consists of hundreds of individuals around Florida’s Gulf Coast in addition to some across the country. These individuals include skilled nursing and assisted living residents, day center participants, families of residents, dedicated staff and of course, volunteers!
One of these exceptional and caring volunteers is David Gordon. David has been volunteering at Menorah Manor for nineteen years. “I feel good when I volunteer… the people at Menorah Manor are my close friends and family,” said David.
When David is not working as a service clerk for Publix, he loves to share his free time with the various organizations that he supports. He has created close relationships with all of the people that he shares his time and effort with including “spending time with my friends and family at Menorah Manor, Benjamin Towers, Temple Beth Shalom, Temple Beth El and the Veterans Administration of St. Petersburg, FL. “
Menorah Manor residents wait for David because they love spending time with him. He delivers their mail, plays cards and helps with special activities.
David has made the Jewish community of Pinellas County his true mispacha (family) by giving of himself so freely to those in need. In addition to his work at Menorah Manor, David is a greeter at Temple Beth Shalom, helps the residents of Benjamin Towers prepare for Shabbat dinner, and visits with patients at the Veterans Administration.
Through his tzedakah, the extraordinary amount of giving back that he does, David’s light shines bright as he continues to spread his positive energy, grace and kindness to everyone he meets.
