Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Linda Reimer and her husband moved to St. Petersburg in 1986. Linda holds a BS in Psychology, a Masters in Health Care Administration and is a registered nurse (RN). She has held various positions in hospitals in both NY and Florida including the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn and finally retiring from Bayfront Medical Center where she worked as a case manager. After retiring from a long career in nursing, Linda became a full-time volunteer.
In 2007, she began volunteering in the Menorah Manor Guild Gift & Coffee shop and soon became a member of the Guild board.
“My nursing career gave me a life in which I was always able to help people in need and that continues today only it takes a different form. Instead of providing direct nursing care, I now provide the residents at Menorah Manor the ability to have some fun, some food, and some companionship by spending time with them, listening to them and hopefully brightening a small part of their day.” said Linda.
In addition to her volunteer work at Menorah Manor, Linda is very involved in the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC), a lifelong learning organization, where she is part of the governing board and co-chair of a woman’s group. She has also served as the chair of the group’s activities and marketing committees. She has been on the Temple Beth-El board, Co-President of the Women of Reform Judaism, and on the board of her condo association. In addition, she is presently a member of the Commission on Aging, which is an advisory committee to the Mayor of St. Petersburg.
Linda loves to read, attend theater and concerts and spend time with her loving husband, Stan, and her many friends including the "Great Dames."
